Amara is the  Director of Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) Programs for The Humphrey Group . Based in Vancouver, Amara oversees the company’s D&I offerings, ensuring they reflect the changing realities of diverse groups and companies in an increasingly globalized business world. She draws on her background in international development in the not-for-profit sector, and in corporate social responsibility to customize programs for our global business partners. Working in India, Asia, Europe and the United States, for Amara the most important part of her work lies in supporting diverse groups find their leadership voice, and enabling companies to create more inclusive cultures. Amara challenges her clients to help them influence change. Amara received her BA in Political Science from the University of British Columbia and a Master’s in Strategic Studies from the University of Calgary.

Julie Angus  is a leading adventurer, bestselling author, scientist, and entrepreneur. She was awarded the National Geographic “Adventurer of the Year” award when she became the first woman to row across the Atlantic Ocean from mainland to mainland. She has also cycled across continents, rowed thousands of kilometers of coastlines and rivers, and organized an expedition that sailed the ancient Phoenician trading routes. Julie draws on lessons learned in extreme environments to motivate and inspire her audiences to reach their goals and overcome challenges.  Julie has written three books, produced several documentaries, and has a graduate degree in microbiology. A serial entrepreneur, Julie has had a successful career in venture capital, business development, and technology transfer. She is currently the CEO and co-founder of Open Ocean Robotics, a marine drone company that was recently granted an $800,000 prize from the Women in Cleantech Challenge to transform how we understand our oceans.  Named as one of North America’s leading adventurers by Explore magazine and one of Canada’s Greatest Women Explorers by Canadian Geographic, Julie is also a fellow of the Royal Canadian Geographic Society and recipient of numerous awards, including the University of Victoria Distinguished Alumni Award and McMaster University Young Alumni Award .

Nicole Tsui  is certified human resources professional, with more than 18 years of experience in adult education, organizational effectiveness and leadership positions. Nicole partners with businesses to build capacity for future organizational opportunities while aligning with current strategic goals. A dynamic facilitator and collaborator; she works with all levels of employees and leaders on leadership programs, team building, interpersonal skills, talent management and change initiatives.  Nicole is an instructor with the University of Calgary, a keynote speaker and the owner of Connect Learning. She has a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Calgary and attained certificates in Human Resources and Adult Education. Clients include government, corporate sector and non-profit organizations.

He does this by understanding and designing for their needs, behaviours, and mental model. He currently leads a team of Product Designers at Brightside by ATB where they're build digital banking experiences that enable Albertans live life to the fullest and save for what they love.

Elena  as a computer scientist and ecosystem builder, is a driving force in driving global blockchain adoption. Recently recognized as an expert and a national leader in Canada and the United States, Elena is a pioneer in private blockchain education and software development. Elena as a CoFounder compliments the company’s ability to spot emerging trends and cross industry boundaries.  Previously an executive in software development and sales for supply chain, energy, automotive and e-commerce, Elena brings an enormous breadth of experience in identifying what, and determining how, new technologies best serve an organization.  Her passion is growing the capabilities of the next generation of innovators. She serves on the Board of the A100 and Chic Geek , is a Founding Business Mentor with  Technovation  and an Executive in Residence at Platform Calgary , where she co-created the  Junction  program for new entrepreneurs.

Tigist has over five years of experience teaching software development at the post-secondary level. She has taught at Arba Minch University in Ethiopia and at SAIT, and has worked as a researcher and software developer in Amsterdam. As her first job in Canada, she worked as a school IT technical support specialist for the Calgary Board of Education.  Like her work experience, Tigist’s education spans continents: she earned a diploma in computer science at Mekelle University in Ethiopia, a bachelor’s degree in computer science and IT at Arba Minch University, and a master’s degree in geo-informatics at the University of Twente in the Netherlands. In addition, in 2017, she earned the Microsoft Technology Associate: Database Fundamentals certification.     TG (as she’s known by her friends) moved to Canada for its ample opportunities for her family, settling in Calgary in 2015.
